Can I use ACID SmartMula with no internet?
ACID SmartMula works on WhatsApp so will require data and internet. WhatsApp is light on data when transacting on ACID SmartMula as we do not send any video or audio files. Check with your network provider as some do cover WhatsApp with no data costs.
What is a QR Code
A QR code is a quick response machine-readable code which you can scan using your smartphone. It consists of an array of black and white squares and is similar to a barcode.

ACID SmartMula is a platform that allows you to make business transactions such as getting paid and making payments using The ACID SmartMula portal. Get paid by sending or forwarding a bill with your SmartBusiness EFT details to your customers or simply generate a QR code you can send to your customers and ask them to scan with using SnapScan or any bank app with QR payment functionality. You can also pay your suppliers by taking a photo of their QR code. ACID SmartMula is powered by Nedbank to ensure secure payments

Do I need to have a business bank account to receive money using ACID SmartBusiness?
ACID SmartBusiness is perfect for small informal business so you don't have to be a registered business or have a business account to get payments from ACID SmartMula. Any personal or savings account can be loaded.
Do I need to be VAT registered to use ACID SmartMula?
ACID Smart Business WhatsApp is perfect for small informal business, so you don't have to be a registered business or be registered for VAT to use ACID Smart Business WhatsApp. If you are registered for VAT ACID SmartaMula will automatically add 15% Vat to your bills and QR codes as a value-added tax.
How can I get paid with ACID SmartBusiness?
You can choose to create and send or forward a Bill to a customer. Or you can create a QR code with or without a set amount that your customer can scan to pay.
How do I scan a QR code to pay with ACID SmartMula?
Simply use your phone camera to take a photo of the QR code in the ACID SmartaMula channel. Ensure the photo is taken in good light and not blur. Next, you will be asked how much you want to pay if the amount was not included with the information of the QR code and the card you would like to use for the payment.
Do I need WhatsApp on my phone?
ACID SmartMula works on WhatsApp so yes you will need to download and register Whatsapp on your phone, but no other apps are needed.
How can I get paid with ACID SmartMula?
You can choose to send either your EFT details to the person you are requesting money from or you can create a QR code that the person who owes you money can scan to pay, with or without a set amount
How can I sign up?

Why do I need to take a photo with a thumbs up?
We need to verify you are who you say you are by doing basic KYC (Know your customer) in compliance with financial regulations in South Africa. We match your photo on your ID or Passport with your selfie to ensure no one is trying to steal your identity.
My photo gets an error when I upload it?
Please check that you are taking a photo with your phone and not trying to upload a photo from somewhere else or take a photo of a photo. Your thumb will need to be in a "thumbs up" position close to your face as proof that it is a "live" photo. Try to take the photo on a blank wall with good lighting.
Do I need to have money in my ACID SmartMula Wallet before I can start transacting?
Before a payment or purchase can be made, you are required to have a minimum available balance of R50,00 on your ACID SmartMula wallet
What is a SmartMula Virtual Card
Virtual Card is a completely digital bank card which is accessible on your phone. It a simple, fast & convenient way to pay for online purchases from websites and apps that accept Mastercard or Visa cards. It is a secure card that you download on your Smart Phone and is linked to your secure online wallet. It can’t get lost or stolen and does not take up space in a wallet. If you loose your phone you can simply download a new card on your new phone.
How do I receive a ACID SmartMula Virtual Mastercard?
Simply activate your virtual card on you SmartMula portal. It’s free to download and use, and there are no virtual card fees. And because the card is stored in the app, it is safer than a physical card and you don’t have to visit a branch to fetch it.
Where can I use the Virtual Mastercard?
You can use your SmartMula card to do online shopping (without having to compromise your physical card's details) as you would with your physical card. You can withdraw cash at an ATM, pay your bills online. You can also select your SmartMula virtual card to make QR payments using scan to pay on your SmartMula app or at retailers. Even our bigger retailers such as Checkers, Shoprite and Pick n Pay now offer this payment option.
What is a OTP sms?
One Time Password (OTP) is an additional second factor authentication for banking and all sensitive transactions performed on your SmartMula Wallet. OTP is a four-digit numerical code sent in real time as SMS to your registered mobile number while performing the transaction. OTP is mandatory for authorizing your transactions.
Do I need to have a Nedbank bank account to use a ACID SmartMula?
No, you can add any South African bank account to receive payments and any South African Visa or Mastercard card to pay with ACID SmartMula.
Is there a limit to the amount I can transact through ACID SmartMula
Yes, there are daily and monthly limits for maximum transactions limits. Please check limits here
My money is not reflecting in my account?
Payments are done daily on weekdays and will reflect in your account within 24 hours on weekdays. Delays may occur on public holidays and weekends. To avoid unnecessary delays please ensure that your correct wallet details are loaded when making payment or deposits. Go to your profile and check that you have loaded your correct South African bank and account number. Please contact support for further assistance if you loaded the wrong bank details.
How long does it take for my money to reflect in my account?
Payments that are done daily during weekdays will reflect in your account within 24 hours pending business TCs & Cs. Delays may occur on public holidays and weekends

I started a transaction but did not complete it.
If you want to cancel the transaction, reply 'c' or 'cancel' or ‘B’ or ‘Back’ or ‘M’ to return to the main menu and to edit any information in a transaction reply 'e' or 'edit'. You can also just reply with 'Hi' to restart the chat and go to the main menu.
How do I cancel?

My card does not want to 'load'?
Please check that your card is activated to be used for online payments with the respective bank. Currently, we only accept cards that are issued by South African banks.
How many cards can I load?
You can load as many cards as you want and delete the cards you no longer want to use or have expired. Tip: name your cards to ensure you use the correct cards when making payments.
What are the monthly subscription fees to use ACID SmartMula?
ACID SmartMula is not a subscription service and you can simply stop using it, but if you'd like to deregister reply 'DA' to delete an account in the chat.
I want to unsubscribe
There is no harm staying on the system as you are not charged anything if you don't use it. If you would still like to be removed, reply 'DA' to delete the account in the chat.
